Voting is important for more than choosing a president
It seems that Americans have three options this election: vote for Hillary, vote for Trump or don’t vote. I believe there is a fourth option.
If you are considering staying home on Nov. 8th, this message is for you. If choosing between Trump and Hillary is not an option, you don’t need to stay home, you can still let your voice be heard by voting for state and local races.
From the Governor to local school boards, elected officials impact policies that affect your family.
For example, amidst wide opposition in the community, the Omaha Public School Board implemented a new policy that requires all OPS schools to teach Comprehensive Sex Education. There are similar issues of this type tha are made in your community as well.
As the election nears, let us embrace our civic responsibility to cast an informed vote and the privileged opportunity to cover the elections with prayer.
Nebraska Family Alliance has prepared helpful resources for the 2016 election: a 40 Day Prayer Guide and an online Nebraska Voter Guide. You can download the prayer guide at NebraskaFamilyAlliance.org/40-Days. There is also a seven day prayer guide on this page.
